Study visit of the Administrative Court Judges to the Republic of Ireland

The Administrative Court Judges Elena Petrovic and Tatjana Popara participated in the study visit to Dublin, Republic of Ireland, in order to attend the European Chapter (IARMJ-Europe) Biennial Conference which was held in Dublin, Ireland, in the period from 8 to10 September 2024.  The study visit was conducted with the support of the Representation of UNHCR in Serbia. During the two-day Conference, the participants had the opportunity to listen the lectures on the following topics: Selected Issues on developments in preliminary rulings in asylum and migration cases of the CJEU; Selected issues on developments in the recent case law in asylum and migration related cases of the ECtHR;  contentious issues in Irish case law on asylum or migration related to the jurisprudences of the CJEU and the ECtHR; challenges ahead of the mandate of the EUAA in relation to courts and tribunals in the EU; examples of migration law issues before Supreme Courts of the Member States of the EU; selected issues of administration of quality justice in asylum and migration cases; Panel discussion on effective access to judicial protection regarding access to asylum, safe country concepts and/or border procedures; and Global standards for international protection in war circumstances. During the discussions, the Administrative Court judges had the opportunity to exchange knowledge and experiences in the area of asylum and migration law with the European administrative judges.
